Medical physics residency program accredited

The medical physics residency program in UC Irvine's Department of Radiation Oncology was recently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs. CAMPEP is a national accrediting body sponsored by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American College of Radiology, American College of Medical Physics and the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine. Its mission is to set standards for the training of medical physicists. The residency program prepares medical physicists for certification by the American Board of Radiology in Radiological Physics and to practice in the clinical setting. The UCI program is one of 20 residency programs in the U.S. and Canada that have achieved accreditation status. It is one of two in California (along with Stanford) and the only one in Southern California.   More »
